Ewa Doroszenko

– Polish intermedia artist, Doctor of Fine Arts, lives and works in Warsaw. Her artistic practice is characterized by an unconventional use of digital manipulation, incorporating both the photographic medium and traditional painting. Her current work addresses contemporary issues, particularly the meaning of the image in technological reality and the fluidity of beauty standards.

Ewa Doroszenko is a graduate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland (2019 and 2024) as well as of the City of Toruń in the field of culture (2011 and 2013). She has won many international competitions, including Preview – Fait Gallery Brno (2016), Debuts 2018 – doc! photo magazine, and Debut 2018 – Lithuanian Photographers Association, and has been a finalist at events such as the Noorderlicht International Photo Festival 2021, Kranj Foto Fest 2021, International Festival of Photography FIF BH – Brazil (2020), Athens Digital Arts Festival (2020), GENERATE! Festival for Electronic Arts (2019), Der Greif & the World Photography Organization open call (2018), and FILE Electronic Language International Festival São Paulo (2015).

She has participated in numerous festivals and biennales, including The Wrong New Digital Art Biennale in Rio de Janeiro, the Transmission Arts Festival in Athens, the ISEA International Symposium on Electronic Art in Vancouver, the CoCart Festival in Toruń, the Open-Source Art Festival in Sopot, and the Mediations Biennale in Warsaw, among others. Her works have been exhibited at venues such as Fait Gallery in Brno, the Center for Contemporary Art in Toruń, the Fort Institute of Photography in Warsaw, Propaganda Gallery in Warsaw, Exgirlfriend Gallery in Berlin, Foto Forum in Bolzano, Pragovka Gallery in Prague, the Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław, and the Polish Institute in Düsseldorf, among others.

Ewa has also participated in many artist-in-residence programs, including Re_Act Contemporary Art Laboratory in Portugal, Atelierhaus Salzamt Linz in Austria, The Island Resignified Lefkada in Greece, Petrohradska Kolektiv Prague in the Czech Republic, Pragovka Gallery Prague in the Czech Republic, Klaipėda Culture Communication Center in Lithuania, AAVC Hangar Barcelona in Spain, and Kunstnarhuset Messen Ålvik in Norway. Her works have been published by outlets such as NEO2, The Forumist, the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography, The Calvert Journal, KoozArch, Les Nouveaux Riches Magazine, LABEL Magazine, Swarm Mag, Metal Magazine, Contemporary Lynx, YET Magazine, and CLOT Magazine.
